i use Omnisphere2 built in Echo and Delay synced to BPM to create subdivisions of the original 4/4 beat with some additional movement (volume, panning, accenting) added by the delay effects so the metronome becomes a pretty catchy synth line on its own that guides me through the entire song, keeping tempo while being part of the musical landscape of the song rather than the typical DING DONG COWBELL metronomes sticking out of the song (although sometimes thats what you need - loud and clear tempo ticks). CAN BE RE-USED IN 3 CLICKS ON ANY PROJECT Saved as Track Template with "include track items in template" checked. 1,2,3,4ġ being octave higher than 2,3,4 to make first beat pronounced. mostly short percussive metronomes using some of those 12.000 patches in Omnisphere2ġ bar with 1/4 grid selected in MIDI editor and 4 notes - placed on each beat in the grid. they all use commercial synth so wouldnt open unless you have same synth installed.Īnyway they arent anything special.
I wonder if there is a set of free midi files out there already with these sorts of things. Would be Great to have some for when you want Ahead of the beat, behind and on top and so on and so forth. Organize them all by time signatures, tuplets, styles of music like Latin Jazz and so on If anyone wants to make some that would be great I'll get to making my own soon and share them when I do.Īdd any additional hits on another note like Otonal has done here with 5 notes over 4 One other way to do this is to create all sorts of one (or more) bar midi files with all the time signatures and 5 over 3 and 5 over 4's and so on and just drag those onto the desired track with reasamp on it and go to town. I've done this same type of thing with midi items but never saved the midi files. Thank you!! I'm sure others will get some great use out of this stuff
New around these parts, but have been using Reaper for quite a number of years. Obviously, one of the most powerful features for creating polyrhythms, is that the MIDI Editor Grid fraction can be set to arbitrary values, making it possible to produce extremely high-precision results. This is the method I used to create the above 5 in the time of 4/4: merely changed the Grid to 1/5. Couldn't see a way to embed the ones I use with the track template.Īnother important detail, is that when making these kinds of click-track templates, the best way to mouse-in the MIDI Notes for any conceivable polyrhythm, is to set Reaper's MIDI Grid to other fractional values.įor example, if you want 7 in the time of 4/4, set the Grid at the bottom of the MIDI Editor to 1/7, then mouse in your MIDI Notes. Click-Track template using two ReaSamplOmatic5000.
